more classwork! we went to the MOMA and had to draw the feeling and experience of exhibits in our sketchbooks.

i’m still confused by where the museum decided to hang one of the most well known paintings ever! it’s awkwardly hung on a dividing wall with a crowd constantly around it.

i had another fun little figure drawing session a few weeks ago! given the pretty strict structure of my actual drawing class having some time just to play around every now and then is fun.

i got to make a decorative font for one of my classes this weekend! i decided on a nice combo of needlepoint and pixel art! each letter is designed after a plant that starts with that letter.

after finishing i did what any sensible person does when they make a font: bad things

if you want to play with it, i put a 100% scale transparent version of it over here.

my first assignment for my storytelling class! the subject was nursery rhymes, so naturally i took “lavender’s blue” and made it about the Lavender Menace, an important political movement from the 70s.

a weird little poster i made for one of my classes this week

i made my first embarrassing autiobio comic for a class about small press and zines i’m taking this fall!

we were handed an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper, showed how to cut and fold a no-staple zine and told to finish the drawings before the end of class. very much looking forward to what else i manage to make!

seeing these come out of the photocopier made me so proud… even if i need to alter them slightly to fix what was cut off by not paying attention to the bleed.

i had a wonderful figure workshop last night! a small gouache palette and a good brush are still my favorite for this kind of thing.

i took my first oil painting class this past semester!

it was a really great experience if only because my teacher was Literally The Coolest. i think a lot of what i learned changed how i viewed digital painting, and i only spilled my solvent once!

I finished my first year of school! Wowie wow!!!

These pieces are my Digital Design final, I made cute illustrations of Swedish folktales with 100% more gay princesses.
